Front disc to fit 14" drum rims on 64-72 Cutlass, 442

I have had a few Olds A bodies, my favorite being a 66 442 ragtop 4 speed. It always vexed me that those wonderful Super Stock I rims could not be fitted with disc - till now.
We doped out a way to fit a 2-1/2" inch bore caliper and 10-1/2" rotor inside the stock drum wheels, including poverty wheels. This, coupled with a 7/8" bore master from a 75-80 Starfire will give you far superior stopping power compared to drum. What we need to know is if there is a demand for this now? A wheel kit would run around $800 US... some pix:

As you see, the rotor mounted to the inside of the hub, like some 4WD and FWD. The wheels are pushed out only 3/16" of an inch versus stock drum. The rim shown was from a 65 Cutlass and had a pie slice taken from it...

Does this kit use "A" body drum or disc spindles?

Beautiful concept and execution. Nice machine work.

When I put discs on the back to fit SSII wheels, I had to make some adaptations, but your work is a lot prettier!

Clever idea and I like the solution. The drum brake wheels is why I haven’t converted to disk brakes. This solution would be right in line with what is like to do since I’m not required to buy new wheels

There are 4 types of SSI. Only one does not fit disc brake. The ones with the trim rings are the most popular ones that do.
