Help identify 14" disc brake wheels

How can I tell the difference between drum and disc brake wheels? I'm going to be doing a conversion in a few weeks and I just read that there are disc/drum wheels and drum only wheels in 14". So how can I identify the disc wheels? Thanks in advance, John

What year and style of wheels do you have? I know the SSI's came with both drum only and drum/disc then some of the steel wheels with hubcaps did too. But I think the SSII and SSIII wheels would fit both disc and drum brakes. John

72, but I'm not sure there original to the car. SSII's I think. So is it the SSI's that are disc brake specific? Thanks, John

Yes, the SSI's were used in 1966 but disc brakes didn't become an option until 1967. SSII's came out in 1968 in 14X6 then I'm not sure if it was 1969 or 1970 that they went to 14X7"s. So if you have 14X7's I'm positive they'll fit disc brakes and if they're 14X6" then I'm 99% sure they'll fit disc brakes. Someone else who knows for sure can confirm or correct my statement on the 14X6's. John

There 14"x 7", thanks for the help. I thought I was gonna have to start looking for some 15" wheels. I'd hate to put the disc brakes on then find out my rims wouldn't fit. Thanks again, John

That's what I did. I put an aftermarket disc brake kit on my Omega then found out the 14" wheels don't fit. So I put on 15" SSIIs with T/A Radials and found out the tires rub on the wheelwells with the slightest bump. Going to have to change the brakes to FACTORY disc brakes so I can use 14" SSIIs or 14" SSIIIs.
