Finally went to Buc-ee's...

....and had to get a pic of the beavers in the truck

Also picked up some of their "beaver nuggets" and their beef jerky. Oh, and got a beef brisket sandwich...very yummy!

Terry and I stopped for a pic on the way out.

The Wal-mart of gas stations.

Never been to one. But seen several along the highways.

Definitely one of the first places of refuge should a zombie attack happen. You could survive for days if you could keep them out...

Their advertising has definite humor. A few miles before I-10 and I-8 diverge in Arizona, there's a large sign on I-10 west proclaiming that you have missed Buc-ees, turn around and go back 987 miles.

There is nothing else like them and they are privately held. Just think about 100 gas pumps and you often have to wait for a pump.

Love Buccee's! I'd never seen so many fuel pumps in one place, and the brisket and the nuggs! My daughter loves it, too.

I haven’t been to one of their stores since their bait store / gas station back in the 90s when I lived in SE Texas. I used to go to Uncle Buck’s Ice House after work, too. They’ve grown a little since then.

That is the only place I buy my gas for all my cars and their coffee is so good tasting. Really good customer service also

Greg, Buc-ee's started in a small Texas town around Houston in the 1980s.

They have spread though southern states. The closest ones to you are in Kentucky.

Try to get to one before 10:00 AM, after that, bedlam. Plenty of ethanol-free gas pumps though.

Clute / Lake Jackson. 50 miles of cow pastures and bean fields south of Houston. That’s the area where I found my ‘71 Convertible.

We don't have the population for nonsense like that. Yeah, only knew about it from Vice Grip Garage.

I and many others don't believe it is nonsense. You have to visit one to understand. There is nothing like it.

I don't know about that. Maybe in Saskatchewan, but I was just recently driving across southern Ontario in the Toronto/Hamilton/Niagara Fall area, and I would say that there is plenty of population density all through that area to support a large number of Buc'ees. The area could become the Buc'ees capital of the world!

My wife and daughters love to stop there, I grit my teeth and tolerate it, even though I despise it. If I’m going to make a 45 minute meal and fuel stop, I’d prefer to not do it at a convenience store!! Entirely too many people. As others mentioned, the bathrooms are clean.

Babylon Bee did what I found to be a very amusing 6(?) part YT series of videos centered around a “California couple” that has moved to TX, their encounters and interactions with this new, unfamiliar, culture. A couple of episodes in, the couple ends up at Buc-ee’s. IMO worth the watch and fun entertainment.

Yeah, 4th largest city in North America. Being the beaver is their mascot, also makes sense.
