Engine Makeover in Massachusetts
Engine Makeover in Massachusetts
Hey Olds fans,
not sure where this post truly belongs; (engines; body/paint?).. but I'm looking for qualified olds expert that can help beautify the 350 rocket in my 72 Olds, within the Massachusetts area.
I have an excellent mechanic, and I have an excellent body guy, but neither is interested in painting the engine block/valve covers. Not sure if I can (or should) paint the brake booster/cylinder or just replace those... Beyond that, I might just swap out hoses for braided ones, for now.
I'm not looking for show-quality standards here, just enhancing the dull, grimey look of the engine (which runs like a top, has A/C). Considered DIY, but pretty sure it might look worse (or at least like I did it myself).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/recommendations

That's a job I would recommend you do yourself. Its not very hard and just requires you to clean/degrease, move the A/C out of the way, take things off, paint, and put it all back together. The engine is very easy to make nice looking with rattle can ceramic hi-temp paint.
