Hello could someone clarify if the distributor gear need to rest on the boss below while the engine is running to maintain correct positioning of the two gears or can the distributor gear float above pulling down on the distributor, there has been some wear on my engine block as in some of the other threads by other members so there is clearance (not riding on the block ) .Thank you in advance.
