Cylinder walls

i just took the heads off my 455. The walls feels nice and smooth except for a slight ridge on top. Good sign??
One piston had a little gouge on the top of it. But the pistons are going to be replaced anyways.
Also, anyone know how much a short block weights? (with internals still there)

The ridge is normal. Once your machinist disassembles the engine he can check the block for wear using a dial bore gauge.
