CVF Alternator Brackt
CVF Alternator Brackt
After reading about constant complaints about parts that don't work I thought I post a positive review for parts that work.
I bought a alternator bracket from CVF Racing.
The bracket came well packaged with clear instructions that included pictures, which made installation really simple. It lined up the alternator pulley perfect with the rest of the pulleys. It's a great looking piece for those that are looking to spruce up their engine bay and get rid of the overkill stock brackets and not break bank. I am also using their pulleys.
American made product, great quality, great fitment and awesome customer service.
Just thought I give some credit where the credit is due and share this with you guys.

Could you please take a closer picture of that bracket installed?
please, please, please!?!?!?!?
I've NEVER seen this bracket.

I've had trouble snapping off bolts on my BOP piece.
(lotsa time digging out steel bolts out of aluminum heads with ez-outs and dremmels lately)

No problem, I'll take a picture when I get home. I never seen it before either, ran into their pulleys on Ebay, decided to check out the store and seen the bracket. Looks a lot better than BOP and much sturdier.
Thank you SO much!
I look forward to seeing this option.
2 weekends ago I was on my way to the track, looked down and saw my volt gauge at 12 and not the usual 13.5+...
popped the hood and found the alternator DANGLING by a bolt. Limped home on battery.
This has happened twice before. The BOP unit worked well for a time...but has turned to junk in the last year.

Nice charge cable. I'm wrapping up a full electrical accessory upgrade using products from http://www.ceautoelectricsupply.com/index.html
This looks awesome!
Really stout with plenty of cross bracing.
Thanks for the extra picts!
-Does it use the top bolt hole in your heads or the bottom?
(of the two furthest left in the head)
-Are there alternate configurations to hang the alternator high or low?
Nice looking mill but the way!

Unfortunately I don't think it can be mounted low but it's nice enough so it doesn't bother me.
They are chinesium Heavy Duty control arms. I used them and abused them on my Chevelle for last 4 years. Did few autocross events and plenty of wild cruises and trips to the track. When I was doing the engine swap I decided to put them on the Cutlass.
When compared to UMI on my buddies El Camino, these just seem better quality. The welds look great, reinforced in critical areas, seem like heavier gauge metal than UMI too.
Before you guys start bashing on Chinesium quality, I still haven't seen 1 case of these failing and there is A LOT of people running them.
I can point you to plenty of cases of BMR, UMI and Global West cracking and failing. Hotchkis is the only company that I haven't heard of any failures, but they were out of my price range.
I forgot to add on both cars I am running Hotchkiss ball joints.
