I Ordered a can of the new VHT Metallic Gold from Jegs- Its not the same as their universal gold and is about double the price at $13- sprayed it on a junk valve cover and it really looks good- Just a hair darker than my stock valve covers- and the metallic is not overpowering.

Looks really good- i think i'm gonna order a couple more cans to do my whole engine.

I'll take a pic of the valve cover tomorrow and post it.

This is the new product:

They have a new Bronze metallic color too- someone should order a can and see how it looks vs the other bronze engine paints

The new VHT SP404 Gold Flake Engine Paint...

Still not the original, but i like it & will do the new motor in it.
The metallic shows up more in the photos than it does in real life, the halogen light really shows it off...

anyway. Hope this helps someone else later-
Ben

I have the colors mixed in acrylic enamel and then shoot them with a spray gun. No more rattle cans for me.

I have a feeling that you won't be the last person to tell me that something is "wrong" in that engine bay

at least not in a couple months...

I'd prefer to think of myself as the bad influence...

Ben, I don't know if you need all the cleaning componets, but here's a POR kit I recently stumbled across on ebay. John

Whoops! I didn't see the page 2 and that you've already purchased some paint.
