Spent yesterday doing some trouble shooting on the Hurst. The speedo quit a while back and I had some time to fix it. Cable to the dash, spins. Pulled the cable to the tailshaft out and it was clean, greased and new. Took a mini screw driver and the transducer spun free..hm? On the way home from Dad's yesterday at 4pm I stopped by Charlie's Transmissions and explained what was up. He thought for a minute and said "pull it around" we put it on the lift and lo and behold it was the speedo gear in the tail shaft. We had some laughs and good muscle car conversation as we swapped it out. When done I thanked him and asked to settle up. He smiled and said "Merry Xmas, no charge." I tried to parley my good luck into asking the lady of the house for a 10:1 roller cam 350 with ported heads...fingers crossed! !!haha
