Looking for a good trans rebuild shop, NY/CT
Hey gang,
I need to have the tranny rebuilt in my burgundy 98 in the next month or so. Anybody in the lower Connecticut/NY area know of any fair priced and reputable tranny shops around here? I've gotten 2 recommendations from friends...both shops charge around $800. I'd like to see if you guys have any other shops in mind.
thanks!

I ended up going with my local AAMCO as their reputation seems to be pretty good and their rebuild price ($700) seemed to be in the right range. My question now is about the torque converter. I had already planned on replacing it but they're offering 2 options: $250 for the standard and $350 for the heavy duty. He said the standard is the direct replacement for the OEM but they (of course) recommend the heavy duty. Any thoughts guys??
