checked some numbers just to be curious

I have been going over the Rallye 350 that my wife bought recently & have been tightening up nuts & bolts that the guy that sold it to us overlooked or missed while freshening up the underhood area.
I checked the carb numbers & the distributor numbers & will list them so you Olds gurus can enlighten me on whether they are correct parts for this Ralley.
Carb is stamped 7040253 & 2709 Distributor is stamped 111975 & 0A15 car was built in first week of Feb. 02A on cowl tag.

The carb number is correct for a 1970 4 speed car. Is your Rallye an automatic or manual transmission?

Youve probably missed a 1 in the dist. number, making it 1111975 which is correct for a 1970 350 4bbl. the date is Jan 15 1970, so it is within the correct range for Her car

It's a 4-speed according to OP's past threads about the car......

'253 is a manual trans 442 carb for a 455. A Rallye 350 used the '250 carb for both MT and AT applications.
EDIT: see my post below. The QB code 350 did use the '253 carb starting in late Nov. 1969.

It still came from the factory with a 7040250 carb.

My apologies. The carb usage chart I posted above is apparently from early in the model year. Below is the table from the 1970 Engine Assembly Manual that clearly shows the QB code 350 using the '253 carb. Note that the change was made Nov 21, 1969. Sorry for the bad info earlier in this thread.
