Changes wheels
I'm thinking about replacing all 4 14x6 SSIIIs (snap in center cap) on my 68 Cutlass S Convertible. I've always wanted CRAGAR SS wheels so I'm thinking -
08/61 Series Super Sport Wheel with 225/60/15 tires (to keep speedo fairly accurate)
08/61 Series Super Sport Wheel with 225/60/15 tires (to keep speedo fairly accurate)
- Size: 15'' x 7''
- Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-1/2" 4-3/4", 5"
- Rear Spacing: 4-1/8''
- Offset: 3mm

Awesome look on these cars. I have SS1s, SS3s and now SS Cragars. Not sure which I like better. Thinking black walls for the Cragars
GAH I give up on the dam pictures! Tried to send you 3 showing mine with all 3 wheels on my 68 but we OLDbies cant load pictures anymore because admin geeks decided to change it/improve the process without a standard operating procedure, ya sure greatly improved as in UNUSABLE..I give up!

I love the cragar SS I don't care for Uni bolt rims if that's what your considering. I also think the 225 will look narrow but I know the 68s may require a more precise tire fitment than the 72s like I have. I have 255-60-15 all around but I know some people run 275 or 295s in back.
droldsmrland what sizes are your tires?

Good choice. I have owned the 08/61 Cragar SS rims since 1986 . Just replaced them a few years back due to scratches and contact with a curb . They are the unilug this time around, They are fine until you get up over 80MPH .
Keep them under 80MPH, just cruise and enjoy them.

OOps the rim only pic was supposed to be this one....I was so excited that the pics uploaded I lost my mind! Using the picture Icon and not using the manage attachments tabs seem to work!

I think it would look cool with Redlines especially considering the color but blackwalls gives you more choices in tires and I always liked blackwalls with cragars .
I just got my hurst dazzlers 15 x 7 wheels they clear the rear disc brakes and was planning on 275/60 15 rears ( or 255/60/15 rears) and 235/60 15 up front ( or 225/60 15) but Im going with rwl tires

Thankx Eddie. Solid question? I replaced the way to low OEMs back in 1985 while serving in the USAF in Cali. Hard to believe it was only ~18 years old with 52K on the clock when I bought it for $1700!
I went to the local parts store off base and put in whatever the counter guy gave me. This was 6 years before it was restored. I liked the stance so well once restored I left them in.
Those are new 60 series BFGs with 15" tires. They filled out the wells better than the 14s did.
