Carb Problem

1976 Cutlass S 350. I just started my car after it was sitting for 8 years in my garage. I pumped out the old gas, put new in, squirted oil in each cylnider and primed the carb. It fired up on the 3rd try. Nice. Anyway, now the carb is pissin g fuel out of the brass plug shown in the picture below. What could be the reason and how can I fix it?
Thanks Tom

My guess would be a stuck float or leaking needle and seat.

Oldcutlass, do I have to rebuild it then? I have a Qjet ready for install but I just wanted to get it started.

You may can pull the needle/seat and clean it for temporary fix. The Holley stuff doesn't sit well for long periods.

There were 2 versions of that carb, square bore and spread bore. If you have the spread bore version then just swap carbs. Or, if you have an aftermarket manifold that accepts a spread bore then you can still swap carbs. Or you can take it apart, clean the needle and seat, check/adjust the float and put it back on.
