BEWARE of Hoffman Group
BEWARE of Hoffman Group
I recently had a bad experience shopping with the Hoffman Group.

I purchased a set of aftermarket seatbelts from them sometime ago. When I placed the order I was convinced by the sales associate to enroll in their "Car Club" for a discount and cupoun special offers. I was sold on the idea when they told me I would get 1/2 off of their flamethrower exhaust kit. Unfortunately, I never received any discount offers.
After calling the Hoffman Group and speaking with the sales associate which sold me the seatbelts I thought I had everything resolved. He sent me an e-mail stating that I could redeem the 1/2 off discount on the flamethrower kit "anytime I was ready."
I called this week to purchase the flamethorwer kit and found out they would no longer honor the discount offer they sent me. In addition, I never received any additional discounts or cupoun books.
This entire process took about 10 months!
I thought I would get better treatment since I was a member of their "car club" but apparently it was only a scam to get an extra $30 from me.
Ultimately, I have to say that their customer service stinks! The seatbelts I got were ok. However, I won't be purchasing anything from them again!

Thaks for the heads up and sorry about the 'screwing' you got...
I typically avoid any kind of clubs or memberships that promise special 'savings' as most are usually bogus in the end. Either too many restrictions or they lead to too much drama.
I will put these guys on my blacklist, even though I never heard of them.

I'm glad a few people are taking my warning to heart. I just don't want anyone else to deal with their madness like I did. They make aftermarket seatbelts, flamethrower kits for exhaust, door handle shaving kits, air suspensions, and the like.
This sounds like a fraud scam to me. Check out "Report Internet Crime" from the following link: http://www.fbi.gov/majcases/fraud/internetschemes.htm.
You may also want to let Hoffman know the options you have available through the FBI's Internet Fraud Department and see how they respond then. Just remember "clerks are jerks" meaning, talk to management if you can.
Good luck.

I already talked to the manager. Thanks for the link. Truthfully, I am done dealing with it. I am out $30, it isn't worth the headache and time to fight it anymore. I just hope everyone on our site sees this post. I don't want anyone else to suffer the same fate I did.
Kanter is a good source for seatbelts, the only problem is that they don't have as many colors as Hoffman. I bought my seatbelts from Hoffman, the quality is ok but in hindsight I wouldn't do it again since I was scammed otherwise.

I think they carry aftermarket seatbelts in multiple colros. I almost bought seatcovers from them but decided against it when I had a local shop redo my interior. They had good customer service and knowledgable staff when I spoke with them on the phone.
Finally, if you have stock belts that are broken you can have them repaired. Use our search engine and look for "seatbelt repair." I think another member had seatbelts refurbished pretty reasonably. Plus the finished products is original.

figure out what city they are based in, and file a BBB claim. You can do it online.
Dollars to doughnuts mgmt will get ahold of you and do something for you. Business's don't like to get BBB complaints and generally work to try to resolve it so it can go off their record.... unless of course their BBB record already shows complaints.

they don't do a thing, and companies know most people won't go through the trouble of checking.
if you paid with a credit card, file a dispute.
what that rep did at hoffman was upsell you something else, that's how he makes a living.
it's probably an independent call center hired by hoffman, and they have no standards at all, probably don't even record the call.
