Any of you ever see a coil like this?
I bought my '69 Cutlass S out of Colorado a few years ago. The car has ~80k miles and was/is in amazingly original condition given its age. I've been through the car pretty thoroughly at this point and have found only three 'modifications' that were done over the years. First, is has an ancient dual exhaust system on it. It's a low compression 350 and the exhaust currently on it looks like it probably dates back to the Reagan administration. Second, it has a cool set of old Stewart-Warner gauges. Based on the font and faded look of the faces, I'd say these were likely added in the '70's or early '80's. Third, is this funky aftermarket coil. Everything else under the hood is bone stock except for this. I just swapped the points for an M&H breakerless ignition module and decided to put an original style coil back on it. This thing still functions fine but, I have to say, I've never seen one like it. The only markings on it are the stylized "M" in the circle you can see on the top. Anybody have any clue as to the manufacturer and possible age of this thing?

Thats an old Mallory Rev-Pol coil, they were usually mated to dual point distributor that used 4 lobes. The coil had 2 primary windings to a single secondary that reversed polarity each time it fired. Each set of points fired 4 cylinders.

A clever way to increase dwell time.
