72 cutlass conv question

72 cutlass conv question

I noticed that when I start to raise the convertable top and let go of the button.The top starts to come down by itself.where should I start from I dont see and leakes in the line and I see fluid in the lines.

How fast does it come back down?
Mine will come back down very slowly, not sure if that was normal.
If it comes back down fast, either there may be air in the hydraulics or a check valve in the pump may be leaking...

It comes down slow but when I close the top i need to hold the button so I can lock the yoke's

I have to do the same - it is a tight fit. I do not think my top is installed exactly like it should. It seems to be a bit stretched when closed. When open, it does not go down far enough for the boot to go on...
