70 w30 stripe color options.

Question is how do I verify what color w30 stripes originally came on my w30 from the factory. My cars' cowl tag is _ _ for special order 51 paint.

The broadcast card shows Sebring yellow 51 code. Can not make out any stripe code. Could it be on the broadcast card? Am i missing something? Is it only on the built sheet which I don't have.

When I got the car it was repainted Aegean Aqua with white stripes.

below is not my broadcast card, but is PP column after the pnt code the stripe code?

I did find this. looks like either white or black is recommended with code 51 and black unless one specified on a 442 order form for white.

Thing is my car has a white pearl interior and I wonder if it was originally a white stripe.

going to sand down the hood as I think its original to the car

I'd say based on the picture that broadcast card is for a Rally Red Black interior 442 Holiday coupe

If that is the card to your car then it would be as soloseat said. With black interior it would likely have black stripes. It is rare for a car to be a 3 color car but it did happen. It could even be stripe delete. Does it still have the original paint under the repaint? You could sand it down and see if you can find the stripes. My dad had a special order car that was yellow with light blue interior and stripes.

sorry for the confusion guys. I said that is not the card for my car - just an example of a w30 broadcast card - to show the PP code # 2 after the exterior paint code depicted on it. Wondering what the 2 stands for that's all.

I thought maybe a stripe code, but most likely something else. Anyone Know?

There was a documented '70 W30 on loan to the Gilmore Car Museum a couple of years ago, that was Sebring Yellow with black stripes and the Ivory (pearl) interior.

For sure it is possible to be a three color car but it did not happen very often. The likely color will be the same at the interior color. If the original stripes are not still under the repaint or an original owner be found you will never know. There is not any document that will tell you for sure.

It may have been born with a gold top (my 1970 442 cvt had one). When time comes for replacement, most choose the black or white offered by every non-specialist supplier.

Actually the cowl tag reads A for white on this one. The previous owner did replace it with kind of a tan top though
