Black convertible with white stripes and interior. White top or black?
I have a 1970 Cutlass Supreme convertible. Black with pearl white interior and pearl white w30 hood and side stripes. I'm doing the top soon and I keep going back and forth. What do to guys think black top or white?

Just to clarify the pictures are just for reference. My car has pearl white stripes to match the pearl interior. Both cars pictured have plain white stripes. My car also has silver SS II's if that matters. I'm leaning toward black because of the maintence and because my stripes and interior are pearl white. If the stripes and interior were white I would probably go with white. Thanks for the input so far though.

I would go white stripes but I'm biased. Nice car! Al

Normally the boot for the top is the same color as the interior. What color boot are you planning. Was looking at the picture trying to imagine what the car would look like with white or black boot. That might give you some idea about the top. Nice looking car anyhow.

Actually I bought a house and the car has been put on hold. Hoping to get back at it this spring. Just to reiterate the pictures posted are not my car. My car is black with pearl white stripes, interior, boot and SS 2 wheels. It seems most of the guys I've asked prefer the black top and most girls the white. I'm leaning towards black because of the ease of maintenance and my stripes and interior are pearl. Another option would be to go with an off white that is closer in color to the pearl. Thanks for the opinions. If I ever do get a new top installed I will update this thread.

With the pearl interior, I'd tend to go with white, although with the black paint, it's really 50/50.
The '64 Dynamic 88 I'm supposed to be getting from my father, eventually, is white with a dark green interior. It originally had a white top but presently has a black one. I've never liked the black top on that car and will go back to white whenever I replace it. Of course, I've got to actually gain possession of the car first.

I go with the original blue top - make it really different. Just kidding
My top is white - it isn't that hard to keep clean. I like both black on black and the white. FYI I bet the pearl stripes look awesome but as reference the stripes in 70 were white. So my car has white stripes, pearl interior, a slightly off-white top and the boot is pearl as well (body is Twilight)

My white top was starting to look dingy so I had it re-dyed....now it's like new.....only about $100. My point is if you like white you don't have to live with a dingy top until it wears out and needs to be replaced.
