68 400 Harmonic Balancer Replacement Choices

Time to replace my original vibe dampener, I welcome all opinions...

Any suggestions on brands or simply replace with OEM or have the OEM rebuilt? Looking at straight-up OEM, Fluidampr, Professional Products, and the TCI Rattler brands. But I don't think I need to spend $4-500 on a balancer? Somewhat leaning towards good ole OEM. The Professional Products is priced reasonably but I don't know about the removable counterweights. I do like the viscous units.

What do you all like for brand preference, ease of installation and most of all performance? What's your experience?

Isn't the crank snout on the late (68-69) 400 the same as 1968-1976 455s? In fact isn't it all the same for 330-455 Oldsmobile!?!

One place differentiates between early and late 400. One place doesn't list the 400, yet it shows 350 & 455. Which is usual for Olds parts listings.

Fluidampr is what I'd like. Its lists 69-80 350 & 455. This should fit the 400? And why exclude the 68 455? Time for a phone call I guess.

Had to laugh...These engines are externally balanced but one place is telling me it's internal. To my knowledge, all 330 to 455 Olds engines are externally balanced, period. I had to argue with the clown on that one. Needless to say, that company has been eliminated.
