Is it safe to assume that it doesn't have the 442 option or the air conditioning option? They used different hoses.

That one is way to short try a 5/8' hose about 1' 6" or 18" total and bend to fit. The other hose is 3/4" hose measure and cut to fit. The one you show is for the intake to water pump.

The second one is for cars with A/C, the first is not. The A/C cars have a heater control valve that requires the different hose shape.

I hesitate to comment, as group 8.846 has 9 different part numbers for heater hoses in 1965 not counting the ones that go to the water pump. 393530 doesn't appear for 1965, but does for 1966.
"A" body is different from "B" body
V-6 is different from V-8
A/C is different from non A/C
442 is different from non 442

If yours is a Cutlass, it should be a V-8 engine, (without the 442 option), and without A/C; then if I'm reading the parts book correctly, the part number you need is 383039.

Take a look at this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-GM-38303...-/401057129141

It seems a bit "pricey" but might be what you need. Try to verify before purchasing.

Fusick shows it for $29.50 + shipping.(Repro.)
