62 Starfire body mounts

With the floor pans and trunk pan done I now have to make a decision on replacing h body mounts. How long does the rubber mount last?...54 years???? Any suggestions, pros, cons or words of wisdom out there..
Thanks Dennis

Replace 'em if at all possible. Cannot hurt.

Ames Performance Engineering has body mounts listed in their full size car catalog. They are listed by size and show all dimensions . Ames is a Pontiac parts supplier , but , I found at least two mounts that are similar enough to work on my 63 Dynamic 88.
You can download their catalog here;
http://www.amesperf.com/html/download.html

54 year old mounts should definatly be replaced if you have the chance . They get hard, crack and compress from age.

Thanks guys...I kinda felt that way too. Any hints on lifting the body off of the frame?
Thanks
Dennis

A twin post lift under the rocker panels on each side worked for me.

Here's what things are supposed to look like when not glued to the ceiling.
I would assume it's the convertible you're restoring and the hardtop is a parts car ?

Make sure to properly brace the conv. body before you pull it off the frame as shown in pic 3.

I copied them to my PC and flipped them. Then I re-posted them.
I don't know anything about tablets.
I do know they and smartphones can be problematic when posting photos to this websight.
Maybe others will chime in with a solution for you .

Here is a thread on body bracing.

This is very important for convertibles and badly rusted hardtops.
