#5 heads

quick question y'all is $300 to much for #5 heads and is it worth it to go from my 7a heads to the number 5s

Assuming both sets of heads are in the same mechanical shape and have the same size valves, there will be exactly zero performance difference. The 7A heads (I assume we're talking about 1972 heads here) will have hardened valve seats, the 5s will not.

Price depends on condition. $300 is high for cores, low for freshly machined and ready to bolt on.

I have a set on a 68 350 that we were driving just a few weeks ago. no smoke good compression and worked well. Had a 455 to go in for the higher horsepower. would sell these for $300 plus the ride
