Question 1971-72 taillight housings

I see that the 1970 tail light housings are being reproduced, but does not appear so for the 1971-72's. Does anyone know who actually makes the 1970 housings ?

It is the typical socket going bad,. They are pressed in and not sure there is a way to replace the socket (and keep the originality of the wire and plug.

Have you tried cleaning the sockets of the hardened dielectric grease? I had the housings out and put a heat gun to the inside of the sockets to warm up that old grease then used brakekleen to get all the old dried up junk out of the socket. Then I put in new dielectric grease. The springs in the sockets worked like new. One thing I would do over is mask the white paint so the brakekleen doesn't damage the finish.

I started a thread on what to buy for the bulb sockets I used them for mine when I rebuilt them.

I don't know how to link a previous thread but if you search for the below heading you should get it.

then at the top, right click copy then go back to the thread you want to place it in and paste. Make sense?
