1970 taillight socket

1970 taillight socket

Looking for a source for 1970 442 tail light and front parking light sockets. Anyone know where to look----thanks----Greg

The sockets are swaged into the housings and not readily replaceable nor readily available. People have replaced them with generic aftermarket socets, but it is not easy.

I'm sure somewhere you can find the sockets on their own but I have yet to find those. You can find the assemblies like this though

As Joe said, not easy to replace. I bought something like the metal one below, removed old swaged socket, and drilled socket hole to size, snapped new one in and then epoxied and tied into harness. If you just have bad springs or wiring, leave the socket swaged in and insert new wires and springs from one of these aftermarket sockets or they may sell wires and springs, separate as I remember seeing that at napa. Then tie into existing wiring with some nice shrink tube to hide the repair. Napa has a lot of these sockets and I think they are made under the Dorman name. Search Dorman website for various sockets and links below. They show just the inserts and springs also.
