I just got this beast from a friend of mine who lost his storage for it. Did they ever make a passenger side mirror for these?

I think the wiper button is on the dash, it does work. There are pouches on the back of the front seat. Power seats work great. Also has telescoping steering column. 455 with dual exhaust and positraction.

it sure looks like it has the button on the end of the shift lever.if you press it in part way it will wipe the wipers once,if you push all the way it will run thru a full wash cycle.also the little pouch is on the drivers seat between the 2 front seats, down the crack ,it's kinda hidden unless you know it's there.

To answer the OP's question, a passenger side outside mirror was not available as a factory-installed option, but you could get one as a dealer-installed item. It is the same P/N as the RH mirror used on the 1968-69 Cutlii. Fusick sells a reproduction for $65 under P/N SM6865R.

It also has a 8 track player. My friend Max"s uncle bought it new in Sept, 1969. It has the proteco plate. Max got it 18 year ago when his uncle was in failing health. Max is a ASC cert. mechanic and has always kept it mechanically sound. It has 107,000 actual miles. Max quit driving it about 8 years ago and it has just been taking up room in his garage. He called me last week and made me an offer I couldn't pass up. The car has always been garaged. It is running, but I want to do a basic tune up on it. More pics tomorrow. Thanks for all of the great comments. It is a true unmolested piece of history.

I know that Cadillac for 1969 had a rim blow steering wheel, and it was a 1 year only part. They dropped it in 1970, because it was so problematic. I would think that Oldsmobile would have also dropped it in favor of a standard horn blowing mechanism that has withstood the test of time.

It does have the rim blow horn and it does work. It just seams like it could take some getting used to.

That dual line whitewall is likely a Firestone bias ply.

Nice, go through it and make sure it is dependable and do some road trips. Brings back memories of my 71 Coupe DeVille. They are both built on the same platform. I like the 98's instrument panel more.

Well here is the beautiful, but not very pretty part, lol. I dont think the engine compartment has ever been detailed. Are E heads any good. My shop is pretty good sized, i just have to much junk.

E heads are just fine. I'd say your valve cover gaskets leak a little. That is a hi compression, probably low end torque, nice mannered cam 455. It is perfect as is for that car with maybe some detailing.

Although most of the rowdiness was left to the A body Cutlass brothers, the 88 B body could have some performance, but the C body 98 was about dignity, quiet exhaust, and a smooth idle. This is as close as Olds came to asking for Grey Poupon out the rear window.

Yes, the 8 track works great. The stereo sounds kind of rough. I haven't been able to get the front speakers working yet.
