Positive Earth Radio Conversion

Mission impossible?
I shot a beautyful 1962 "His Masters Voice" car radio in the bay.It looks allmost new,got an external amplifier and lots of chromeSomething i didn`t knew is that the radio works on positive earth only.Such radios where made in england till the late sixties.Has anybody got information if there are converters on the market?I`m searching for something that can be connected between the radio and the cars body.A complete isolation of the whole system icl. antenna isn`t possible without the risk to flare my car
Thank you for all ideas,Martin

Good Morning Mr. Phelps

I think that would be positive ground on this side of the pond?

I don't know if they make anything or how to do it.

The Impossible Mission Force/IMF needs to handle this one.
I think Barney is the electronics guy if I remember correctly.

If that was positive ground and isolated and the rest of the car was negative ground wouldn't you light up if you were grounded and touched the radio??

This message will self destruct in 30 seconds.

I had my Oliver switched over from positive ground when I mounted an electric hoist for the snow plough...I think they just switched some wires around in the regulator and generator...so if you take your radio to a radio shop they might be able to switch it also...

Some of the vintage radio services do a digital conversion and ground conversion. You might want to ask if they can just do he ground conversion. www.vintageautoradio.com
