Question about 72 Supreme map light...

Doing some research...does the map light above the radio only work when the headlight switch is on, when the key is on, or does it have it's own circuit?

Thanks,
Dave

It has its own circuit that is always hot. Back in the early 90s I inadvertently turned mine on after cleaning the car (couldn't tell it was on in the bright daylight) and the light got so hot that it cracked the rearview mirror glass.

Oh. Just like the mirror map light, the dash map light has its own supply / switch so it can be turned on at any time.

Copy that and thanks. Guess I'll start with the bulb and go from there.

Sme problem. Anybody know of an led option so when I leave it on I don’t run down battery?

Over at SupreBrightLEDs.com it's either RL4410-WWHP9 or 4410-WW8. I think the first one. The problem is hanging by the wires causes the LEDs to point off to the side so you don't get much light. I modified the housing to angle it closer to straight down. And the mounting is a little finicky for that type of bulb.
