turn signal issue

turn signal issue

have a question on a newly aquired 1980 olds cutlass .when i step on the break the right turn signal indicator light on the dash comes on.and when i use the turn signal both indicator lights come on but dont blink .just got it so havent had time to delve into it .maybe a short ?

Make sure the **** for the four way flashers is pulled all the way out.

Thanks joe , while going over a few things I did mess with that and things started working .the 4 way switch is very stiff . Would spraying wd40 in there harm or help it to work more freely ?

Likely the grease in there has hardened. I would use a silicone spray instead of WD40. Petroleum-based sprays can eventually damage the plastic.
