70 oil pressure gauge pegged

Hello, oil pressure gauge is pegged all the time, key on or off makes no difference. Can I ground the sending unit wire to check the wiring and gauge? I know this works with temp and gas gauges, but it doesn't make a difference on my oil pressure gauge. I'm trying to see if it's just a bad sending unit or the actual gauge or wiring problem. Any info is appreciated.

If you remove the wire from the sender and ground the end of the wire, the gauge should go to 0. If it does buy a new sending unit.

Thank you, that's what I thought but it doesn't move the gauge. I'll check the wire next and see if it's broken.

Problem found, wire pulled loose behind the gauge. Works great now.
