Oil pressure gauge
1967 442 conv. Tic-toc-tach. I was driving down the road the other day and my oil pressure gauge acted up. It went from normal range to high, jumping back and forth. I stopped, tapped on the sender, jiggled the wires, and it then operated normally for the rest of the trip. 125 miles. When I started it back up to head home, it started jumping again, the needle went up and out of sight and stayed there. I've installed a new sender and opened up the dash to get the needle back down. When I started it up the needle pegged again. Any body have any ideas as to what to check?
Sounds like a short cct. A wire is pinched, probably under the dash...or some metal object is touching in around the fuse box..done any repairs or modifications in there lately??
follow the wiring under the hood to the firewall plug to see if there is anything touching and causing a short...
