Wiring Harness

I was in the market for a 70 442 complete wiring harness. I there a prefeffed vendor? I've found 3, since they are all quite expensive I'd like some first hand advice from people who have replaced their harnesses. Thanks

I have used a both M&H Reproduction and also American Autowire. Both are exact reproductions of original wiring. No modification is needed. They are plug and play.

Hope this helps.

GH Thanks for the input. Ever tried Painless? Looks like they tossed their hat into the ring.

I never tried them but from what others have said "Painless ain't Painless" lots of modifications and crimping.

Here is another item that I found very useful. Makes life a whole lot easier working with wiring.

Thumbs up

M&H for me.

Their customer service after the sale is top notch.

BTW, a new harness is cheap insurance against bad wiring and a car fire.

Ask me how I know.

I used M&H also. I had them build it without the resistor wire so I can run an HEI without having to run a new wire, and they also set it up for an internally regulated alternator.

You didn't say if you are looking for direct fit or one you need to customize? If you're looking for Direct Fit, I believe American Auto Wire is the only company that makes one with mini fuses.

I can say first hand that they have great tech support if needed. If this kit were out when I wired my car, I would have used it with no questions asked.

I will also say that I've heard Painless is not as it sounds....
