Hi! Quick question as to where the engine ground strap installs on a 72 cutlass 350? I think it runs from somehwere on the firewall but not sure where and where it connects on the block. I don't see it in the CSM. Thanks!

It connects to a bolt on the back of the passengers side head.

I posted the Assembly Manual pictures for the '72 sbo ground strap several weeks ago.

 

Oh wait, you're the same person I posted this information to previously. I guess I posted the negative battery cable routing pictures. I'll see if I can find the ground strap pictures.

The battery connection ground to the block goes behind the power steering pump.

 

I don't believe he is asking for the battery negative connection which I previously already sent to him. He is asking for the ground strap from the engine to the firewall, I believe.

 

Funny. I've always (since ...... '95?) connected that to the upper bellhousing bolt. Thought it was OE based on the condition of my '72 (which my dad bought in '73 and only did basic maintenance).
Bolting to the head would be a LOT easier.......!
It's funny the difficult practices we stick with because we think it's the right thing to do.
