engine ground wire location

engine ground wire location

I have a 67 cutlass s
The 330 has a ground wire wire (just the end terminal) attached to the bottom of the power steering braket. I would like to conect a new ground wire. Where is the proper place to conect the other end?

I have mine to the first bolt on my headers on the block.. dont know if its correct or not.

Thanks for the reply. I have a motor ground conection at the power steering pump-where on the frame or body close by is the proper location for the other end of this ground cable?

The heavy ground cable from the negative battery terminal goes to the engine block in an area adjacent to where the battery sits - this is probably the site of the terminal you mentioned.

The engine is grounded to the car by a woven ground strap (sometimes 2 of them) about ½" wide and 6" long, that goes from one of the blind bolt holes on the back of a head to the firewall.
