turn signal switch

Im shooting in the dark now. I cannot figure out why my passanger side , front blinker will not blink. Rear light will blink.Driver side works fine.Checked wiring, checked socket, checked ground, no blink. I do hear the switch making a blinking sound. Passenger side light will come on with headlight and as running light. Can one side of the "turn signal switch go bad?

Having trouble with windshield wipers also. Cannot get them to work. Was working fine before starting restoration. Can someone shed some light on how to test wiper motor?

Any help would be greatly appriciated,

You do realize that the 1157 bulb has two filaments, right? One for the park/tail lights and one for the brake/turn lights? They usually burn out at different times. Did you try swapping the bulbs side-to-side?

Unfortunatley joe that did not work. Moved diver side wire over to check passenger light fixture.
Made it " blink " fine. I was hopeing not to go into steering wheel. Not sure what else to do.

I'm sorry, but I can't follow what you typed. You moved the "wire" over? I suggested that you simply swap bulbs from side to side. Is that what you are saying you did?

Hi Joe,
I made sure that both of the bulbs worked. I disconnected blinker light sockets , took a wire and ran it from working side and ran wire over to check passenger side socket. It worked. So I'm leaning towards replacing turn signal switch. Would you have any suggestions before I pay out money. I also took contact electrical sray and cleaned the wire connections that go through firewall to fuse box.
Thanks for your help
Shay

Got it. The one thing I would do next is disconnect the flat connector near the base of the steering column that comes from the turn signal switch. In that connector are a med blue wire for the pass side front turn signal and a light blue wire for the driver side front turn signal. Apply +12V to each of the pins in the connector (the side that goes to the firewall, not the side that goes to the switch) and see if the appropriate light comes on. If they do, the problem is the switch. If not, the problem is the wiring from there to the light.

Joe, found the light blue and blue wire at base of steering column. Applied 12V to each, each turn signal light came on when applied. So I guess im heading to the Turn signal switch.
Also ran 12volts to the windshield wiper motor that I could not get to work. Motor moved about 1/2 a rotation and stop. Never moved agian. I take this as motor is shot. Would you agree?
Thanks agian for your help.........Shay

Unfortunately, I think you are correct on both counts. Time for a turn signal switch and a wiper motor.

Joe,,I started to dig into steering column, got steering wheel off and thought I would try some electric contact cleaner. After a couple of squirts on the turn signal switch , Blinker started to work!!! Life is good.
Thanks agian for your help
