Does the distributor have to come out when installing the Pertronix Ignitor II? I know with the original version that it did, but cannot remember if it has to on the Ignitor II, or do I need the Ignitor III to avoid that hassle?

 

As you mentioned, the original version did not require removal. I can't imagine the others are any different. Try checking their website. Pertroniz makes great stuff.

 

i just installed an Ignitor II on the original distributor for my Rallye 350. my distributor was all ready out but when i went by the directions i had to remove the bottom gear to install washers to take up some end play. i don't know how much the end play is an issue but you would have to take it out to put these washers in if you have to much end play.
