Neutral Safety Wires

im installing the hurst quarter stick this week and would like to use the original neutral safety wires....I've got two purple wires (12gauge), one is solid and one with a white stripe on each end, not striped all the way. Which wire is connected to the starter?

The purple with YELLOW stripe is from the ignition switch, the solid purple is from the neutral safety switch to the starter solenoid

Of course, you could also simply probe each terminal in the connector with a test light while holding the key in the START position. The one from the key will have power and the other one won't.

With all that said you still need both wires and they connect through a simple switch that does not care which wire is connected to either side as long as they are on the correct switch for your new shifter.
