Found my wiper motor with one connection unplugged on my 70 Cutlass S

Moved once to the rest position, now it just creeps with the key on with no other movement. I will double check the wiring order. I found a pic of a 72 for wiring, if it is the same and have a spare motor.

Should be very similar wiring.

(note to others, I know my phrasing isn't precise here. there's shunts, motor windings, all kinds of great stuff involved, but hopefully this gets him going)

Note that the wiper motor wiring is, IMO, downright strange. It grounds through the wiper switch, so the grounds on the dash MUST be in VERY good shape. The speed is determined by which wire is grounded. IIRC, both grounded = slow, one grounded = fast. Grounding the wrong one can damage the motor. When both float, the motor should run full speed to park then shut itself off.

Another question, how does the timer plug function? These cars are way ahead of the g bodies in design but have some strange old technology in them too.

...... timer plug? I'm only aware of the standard WASH/SLOW/FAST switch from the factory for this generation.

I played with the wiring and sort got it working, then not. Noticed a spring hanging down and it stopped working and blew a fuse. Changed the motor with the used one I picked up, all good.
