advise for HEI and alt upgrade on 67 CS

Upgrading to HEI and 2 wire alternator during restoration, and looking for advise!
1. HEI. Should I tape off wires from coil and remove yellow/black from starter term "R"... and run new wire from IGN to HEI?
2. Alt ..Connect B+ to term # 2.... and remove plug from regulator, and then connect blue (from alt term #1) to brown (goes to warning lamp).?
Thanks for advise...

Since I’m picky about my wiring, I prefer to remove everything that’s not used, and replace it with the new needed wiring.

Napa has the proper series 56 male terminals. Pull apart the electrical bulkhead connector, remove the old resistance wire, replace with a 14 gauge wire where the old resistance wire was. Same thing with the alternator wiring.

Crap, I just noticed your car is a 67. I don’t think those cars used the series 56 terminals. Definitely make sure before cutting anything

For the HEI on my car, I did exactly as you said in #1.
