88 1998 tail lights and cluster light off chimes on opening door

Hi I have figured out it is a fuse but cant find the correct one. My car has left and right inside fuse box and underhood fuse box. I can not find good break out on the fuse numbers. I found one place that it is fuse #37 but can't
find a list of numbers for the box I have checked all of the upper fuses in LH and RH below and they all look good.

Your best bet is a factory service manual. It would also help if you tell us what year your working on.

Thanks for the reply Matt its a 1998 Olds 88. I looked in the Service Manual and it had details on the left and right side fuse boxs inside the the car but nothing at all about the under the hood fuse box.
I was able to find the scematic I posted on the internet but with no details on it. They have 20 40 and 60 amp fuses above the relays in the under the hood. They even have spare fuses right there which is great.I found one that was 60 amp labeled Misc lights and figured that was it but the fuses were still good.
I did have some lose wires at the bumper that were hanging down some which I taped the frayed wires up but I am guessing that was were my short happened that blew the fuse. The brake lights still work but no other tail lights.
Thanks for any help on this.
Jeff

Wow, I feel stupid. You stated the year in the title and missed it.

The electrical information is in section 8 of the service manual. There is a subsection labeled chimes and warnings, it should have all the info you need to diagnose the issue. There are inputs to the chime module for the door jamb switch, taillight feed, seat belt, etc. Your going to have to determine if each input does what it’s suppose to do. If everything works as designed, most likely you have a bad chime module

Thanks Matt I will look there and check that out. That is going in a direction I had not thought of at all.
Hopefully that solves my issue.
