69 Cut white wire/black stripe
69 Cut white wire/black stripe
my final wire to resolve and my dash can be installed. I have a white wire / black stripe with a blk connector spade end, located even with the dash courtesy plug end. I track it back and found it coming out of harness (OEM) and hanging with a frayed end and no mate to be scene. all other wires accounted for.

electrical 69
going to the end of electrical I see where it is listed for console lead. but why would I find the other end frayed. everything else that is not being used states to trim to tape. but why would the end be frayed?
I am a manual which doe not have any power to the console....

Pretty sure white/black tracer wires are for accessories that include a interior lamp. Consoles have interior lighting that work independently of the dome lamp. My car has a console, if you turn the headlight switch all the way to the left the dome light comes on, but not the lights in the console. I don't have my service manual handy to verify.
Hi
did you ever figure this out?
i bought a 1966 98 convert and i have the same wire hanging off the driver side and it was stripped and tied to to another set of same color wires
when i took it apart the lights under the dash went out.
it has a stock looking spade connector on it as well
thanks

I'm pretty sure that wire is somehow associated with the switch that operates the interior courtesy lights when a car door is opened.
It definitely has nothing to do with an electric trunk release. The '69 trunk release was vacuum-operated.

Another more or less educated guess... Black/white is usually switched ground, so:
The wire that goes to the map lamp switch near the radio (if there was a map lamp in '69)?
