64 Cutlass Kick Down Switch

This may be somewhere in a previous post but I can’t find it. Question is the switch mounted to carb on 64’s has 12v into switch at ignition on, 2 wires to trans solenoids both have 12v on. When wot one wire to trans turns 12v off the other remains on. Is switch malfunctioning? Trans does not kick down when WOT. Should switch be on or off for both wires? Or just one. Maybe solenoids not working but switch is first to diagnose.

The black wire operates the switch pitch solenoid and should have power at both idle and WOT. The white wire operated the kickdown and should only have power at WOT.

Joe, what happens if the pitch stator doesn’t have power?
Like if the fuse blows?

It just stays at the low stall speed position.
