Thanks Joe P. So if I replace the yellow wire that I have labeled ground (which I now understand is supposed the be the blinker / brake indicator wire) with the wire that i confiremed is the blinker, it may fix it. But it may also disconnect the brake light, depending on how it's wired. Correct?
Correct. The wire from the brake light switch is SUPPOSED to be connected to the turn signal switch, not directly to the socket. Personally I would trace all those wires back to the steering column connector before cutting and splicing anything.
Try again? I increased the scale and widened it. Not sure what else you want.
Super duper clear! Thank you.
As Joe P mentioned the brake and blinker wire are supposed to be attached together here...
Is this turn signal switch supposed to be under the column? Im trying to follow the wires from the back to the dash but this trim is a pain in the butt. If i can get to the turn signal switch without tearing my complete dash and trim apart, that would be great

The original wiring diagram uses true circles for the starter motor, generator, blower motor, etc. Obviously even this version has ovals, which means the graphic is still distorted horizontally. I don't know how you are posting these images, but again scroll up to post #39 and note how I stretched the image horizontally to the original width.
As I've tried to point out before, since this car has been rewired in a way that doesn't match the original, it's obviously impossible to know what that prior owner did. Proper debugging requires one to have the car in front of him. Either you need to trace the wires or pay someone who can. The rest of use here are just guessing and that's a great way to provide you with bad information.
The blue wire runs to the front RH turn signal bulb and the telltale lamp on the dash. The yellow wire does the same for the LH front and telltale. The red wire runs to the rear LH turn/stop bulb, the green to the rear RH turn/stop. The orange wire comes FROM the flasher module, the white from the brake switch. With the turn signal switch straight ahead, the white wire is connected to both the green and red wires. When the turn signal is moved to the RH turn position, orange is connected to green and white remains connected to red. With the switch in the LH turn position, those are reversed. The front turn signals are independent from the rear and use a different set of contacts in the turn signal switch. Wire the car like that and everything will work.

So, I was able to figure out the blinkers and brake lights 100%. I had to remove the turn signal switch and test wires with the light indicator in order to figure out what was what. After finding the brake light wire on the turn signal switch was doing nothing (regardless of the position of the brake pedal or blinkers) and the wire on the brake light switch that goes hot when the switch is released (the brake pedal pushed in), I cut and wired together the two wires. BOOM, I'm in business.
Unfortunately, when trying to reinstall the turn signal switch, I had a spring drop down the steering column tube. Then, when I was trying to get the switch pin rigged to still work, that fell in too (referred to below). The third picture is what I'm left with. I can still reach the back of the turn signal switch to activate the signal manually at least.
Here's my question, I know I dropped the pin down, and the third pic shows the spring that is in the manual pics, is there a second spring in the set up not clearly articulated in the manual? I could feel the spring connected to the pin, and after the spring dropped, I had the pin in my hand. The spring on the rod is clearly still in the picture I took after both fell down.
Once again, thanks for all your help!
Pin I dropped down the column ^
Pin I lost, spring I still have in position, and the turn signal rod ^
Glad to see you got your book. Even in my book it's hard to tell what that pin looks like. It's been awhile since I replaced my switch and I don't remember that pin. Anyway, it looks like it's there to hold the spring onto the turn signal rod and if it fell into the Mast Jacket you should be able to retrieve it because it'll be stopped from going all the way down by the Dust Seal that's on the Shift Tube. You could try a strong magnet and drag it on the outside and slide it to the opening.
