Steering Wheel Puller bolts

Does anyone know the correct size bolts to use on a steering wheel puller for a 68 Delta 88? I got a kit from Advance Auto but none of the included bolts seem to thread in properly. The one's marked 5/16" -24x3-1/2" seemed like they were going to work, but they got tight after only a few turns.

5/16-18 is the correct thread size for 1960's 1970's GM steering wheels. I always carry several different lengths when junkyarding.
