bolts to remove steering wheel

Hi,

i´m trying to remove the steering wheel from my 66 f85. I grew up with the metric system and loosing my mind right now. I tried UNF and UNC bolts to remove the steering wheel from the column - but none of them fits???
Any suggestions on that?

Thank you and BR

Daniel

SAE is what you want. The size is probably a 5/16x18 or 5/16x24, coarse or fine thread. 18 and 24 are the number of threads per inch with the larger number being referred to as fine thread and the smaller as coarse. 5/16 is the bolt diameter which is once again in inches, 5/16ths of an inch. Youtube has videos on pulling steering wheels

If you purchase an English steering wheel puller kit, it will most likely have everything you need to pull the wheel...

FYI, those ARE UNC and UNF, respectively.

Every wheel puller kit I've ever gotten has had an assortment of bolts in both English and metric threads. (Admittedly, the last time I bought a steering wheel puller, GM still used English fasteners in it's cars...) I'm pretty sure the Olds wheel is UNC.
