Rear Brake Drums for 68 Delta 88
Hi. I was just installing a "new" rear end for my 68 Delta 88 and when I was going to replace brake shoes I found out that my new rear end has 2 1/2 inch wide brake shoes (1/2 inch wider than in the old rear end). Althouht I can use those old brake shoes and drums that came with the new rear end (meaning that old drums are still in pretty good shape and shoes are in driveable condition) I was wondering that are there any spare parts on the markets (drums and shoes)? This my "new" rear end came from 68 Delmont that was equipped with "police package" (3.08 lsd).

Can you post pictures and the casting numbers off the larger drums? There may be someone here who knows what the interchange is for them. I know the Vista Cruiser in 68-72 uses 2 1/2" wide shoes, but the drums are only 9 1/2" diameter. I'm guessing your full sized car has larger diameter drums and the 5 on 5 bolt pattern. John

If it has the 11" x 2 1/2" Rear -- that was what was put in the 98s and the Police Car Packages -- ONLY --
such that someone either changed the Rear End (make sure your set up is all okay -- from backing plates to drums -- and not a mis-matched system!!!!!!!!)
If everything is correct -- I have N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ Brake Shoes and N.O.S. Rear 11" x 2 1/2" Brake Drums.......
