1962 Olds Dynamic 88 Rear Brake Drums

Does anyone know where I can locate replacement rear brake drums?

Except for J88, Olds used the same rear drums from 1959-70, if that makes it easier. You may find replacement stock sometimes doesn't look exactly like the OE piece, but as long as it's 5x5 bolt circle and set up for 11" brakes, it will work.

Wagner, Bendix, Raybestos and the other big players in brake components all supplied aftermarket drums if you can't find an original GM part.

Unfortunately, I can't even find a listing for a 1970 D88. Kanter sells drums for these cars, but they are very pricey.

Centric P/N 122.62016 may work. Compare these dimensions with those of your old one. If acceptable, this is the drum for a 1971 D88 without HD brakes.

I've got a half-dozen sets of those rear drums, all used, mostly removed from '65-'70 big body cars, might be a couple from '62-'64 in there. If that posted interchange is correct, any of them should work. I'd sell a used set for $75 plus the shipping, but would have to check them all with my drum gauge first to make sure where the size is at.

If it's wrong, the factory parts book lied.

398466 RH, 398467 LH lists for 1959-70 all B, C except some 65-69 Ninety Eights with disc brakes or commercial chassis which are just a smidgen wider to accommodate 2-1/2" wide brake shoes.
