3 inch x pipe

Does ANYONE make a 3 inch x pipe kit for these cars? Seems the trans support is in the way of most kits- tried them. Custom support?

I had a X pipe installed on my 71 98. A local exhaust shop did it with aftermarket parts. I took the car to him after cutting out the old single exhaust and installing headers. He installed 2 1/2 duals all the way back with a X pipe, 45" Thrush glasspacks and aftermarket tips. It's great, the B/C bodies are so long that the exhaust note is more deep than loud.

You can buy just the X pipe and then fab/have fabbed an exhaust around it. Click amazon link.

Yes I KNOW you can fab up an x pipe. My post was-does anyone MAKE an x pipe kit for these cars? Answer is no. Anyone with a pipe bender listening? Wanna make some money? I'd buy 20 sets. Just don't get stupid with the price.

Unfortunately, there is little aftermarket support for the 71-76 Oldsmobile B/C bodies. We're lucky that there are at least 2 choices of headers.

I run Hedmann headers and they're great.

Doug's headers are also available.

Yeah, you'll but 20 sets, and nobody else will buy one.

Not worth the investment for any aftermarket company. These cars are orphans with little interest, and are mostly stripped of their engines and scrapped, if they are not scrapped in the first place.

Sorry, you picked an unpopular car, and unpopular cars are not popular.

I had a set of unknown brand 68-72 A-body tube headers laying around. They fit but I did heat/bend the drivers side for a closer fit. I'm running 2.25" dual exhaust with a torque tube. I have 2.5 inch pipes on the Turquoise 98. Jmo but 3 inch pipes might be a little over kill for a street/strip car.

I skipped right over that part.

Does this engine make 600 HP?

Then why do you want 3 inch pipes?

Here's a table showing appropriate pipe sizes based on displacement and output (from an earlier post I made):
HTML Code:
Pipe Diam Pipe Area Total CFM Max HP Max HP
(sq.in.) (estimated) Per Pipe Dual Pipes

Actually I'm making close to if not more. I just love rocket racing cylinder heads. Just need to buy a spare hood I can cut for the scoop.

Just curious, are you planning on coming to the Miller meet at Norwalk. I would love to see a Delta racing.
