MY 70 Delta 88 pics

Thats a nice, clean, full sized beast. Those 2 door Deltas. I think I'm starting to like them better than the Cutlasses. I also like the bench seat/column shift. Rims are nice because they're not 22's or 24's or something stupid like that. I like that color also. Nicely done.

THANKS
I own this car for a long time I pick her up in the about in 84 to replace the 4-door my parents game me that they bought new ,lost the 4-door to major frame rot
this car was white and black vinyl top wich I did not like either combo
so I changed her to sherwood green this was the color of the 4-door and got rid of the vinyl top
Would you believe I painted this car 20 years ago ,the paint not perfect but she still looks good the motor and drive trian was rebulilt in the same time frame ,detailed the engine bay about 10 yrs back and I been tinkering ever since
the rims is also from the mid 80's 15" american racing with 60 series rubber all around
I had to get the motor rebuilt again about 3 yrs ago lost comp in one clyinder
so this time had the motor built right balance/blue printed forged pistons
heads reworked for large vavles mild porting roller rockers and few other goodies this realy woke this motor est hp 330-340 for a 60 over 350 ci
custom bent 2" duel exhaust mated off the stock manifolds with glass packs
with all this room in the engine bay headers will not fit ,even had a set of duel exhast manifolds for a cutlass still no go ,will not clear the stearing box
Okay the heater hose I got from Summit it is goodyear hose
one thing I do like about this car I never see one like it in a show or cruise

GREAT car!
I've been turned on by these big ones lately. Great color combo too.
I wished the rubber filled up the wells a bit more though...and I don't mean
16's or 17's. Just some big ol' meats under her.
What about that alt. bracket? Chromed? Powder coated? Rattle canned?
Looks nice!!!

intake, valve covers ,exhaust manifolds and all brackets, pulleys and done in the hi-temp performace coating(powder coating)
no more dealing with dulling out alum.
only a couple of pieces are chrome, Alt and some minor accessorys
the exhuast manifolds are starting show wear but theses have been coated well over 10 yrs ago

what you dont see in the photo in the dash I inserted a tach when the clock belongs and with out modifing the face of the dash for fit ,only thing is is not
in perfect view. I did not want to hack up the dash
still needs some more dash work to clean up from wear from time, faded wood grain finish ,brush stainless finish trim is yellowed on the edges
I pick at a little at a time
by the time I am finished then its time to start all over again
also It took me along time to find sport mirrors that will work on the doors(that was last year),thats why for now I just painted them trim black
I tried a lot of different mirrors ,I got **** off every time I close the door or hit pot hole the mirrror head would shift "I HATE BALL SOCKET MIRROR HEADS"

The coating on your exhaust manifolds looks good. How did you run dual exhaust without the dual exhaust manifold for the driver's side? Did your exhaust shop fit the pipe in there around the pitman arm, or did you have to get one of the Thorton reproductions?

on the exhaust
Jims Custom Exhaust in South County R.I.
stock manifold ,right side ,made a bock off cap were the cross over pipe would go too and used the rear exit for the exhaust pipe
now custom bend to left side manifold he went down and around the drag link with a slight loop back up to level back out ,the drag link is above the pipe and it is set for just enough clearance so it wont rub on the pipe he also slighty egg shaped the pipe that passes around the bottom of the drag link for slightly more ground clearance wich turn out not to be a problem and the pipes are not in away of anything
he used 2" aluminized pipe with H-pipe configure tuck up neat into glass packs
and the tail pipes exit under the bumper on a slight angle with stainless tips
from the backside of the car you cannot see any pipes till the curl down under
the bumper, the whole system is welded
first tried a set of flow masters mufflers ,did not like them they resonated sound into the car he exchange them and install glass packs and now perfect
the sound goes out the back of the car instead through the floor
I hope I explained it alright
