Which keyless entry remote for a 1992?

Just bought this Royale but it's missing the remotes. Anybody know the correct ID number for the remote used in 1992? And I assume RKE was standard on this car.

Welcome aboard,

1992 Keyless remote for Olds Royale shows FCC ID: ABO0302T

First 3 are letters ABO, followed by 0302T. Sometimes the O gets mistaken for a zero. Was RKE standard on 92 Royale? No, it was an 'available' feature -meaning option. But Pass key was standard - that's the ignition key with the resistor chip in it.

Is there anywhere to get these besides the dealer? My remote for my 03 GMC truck quit working. The dealer says $150. for a new one. That seems like alot to me. Do they have to be programed?

Open it up gm remotes tend to have two points that the solder breaks most can be repaired

Also if you pick up a used one they do need to be programmed

Absolutely. You can buy used remotes on line. Example: Keyless Remotes Programming the remote is very easy. Most companies will send the instructions with the remote. If not, there is on line help for whatever your application is.

25602667 IS the correct part number for that vehicle, but I noticed that the catalog referenced option code AU0 (remote entry) which makes me think it wasn't standard. If you can't get the remote to work, look for that code on a label that's usually in the glove box or trunk. If you can't find the label, post your VIN, and I or any GM dealer can tell you if you have the required option code.

Chances are really good that a Delta Royale will have RKE, and yes -it was an option. Not a standard feature. But lots of these cars were produced for dealer stock and the RKE was a nice selling point for convenience. Same with other creature comforts like AC, Power trunk, etc.

Here's what the 92 brochure spells out for your model (Royale or LS). Note option packages on top right (clik to enlarge)
