hey whats up. 1st post here and a new to me car lol. its an 83 olds delta 88 4 door. i got it from my mom which was her dads and he passed away so they gave me the car for a birthday present. ole gramps kept good care of it for the time he owned it. body needs some work but you can eat off the interior lol. i'll post some pics tomorrow of it when its light out.

 

Cool. They're great cars. Dependable,comfortable ,easy to get parts and they can pull off some decent mpg. I have an '85 2 dr.

 

yea its a nice riding car, felt like i was floating on air on the way back home with it lol. my unlce spent a few grand in the drivetrain back in 03. basically everything but the motor and rearend was replaced or rebuilt. he thought it was overheating when he heard some bubbling and faint hissing sounds. come to find out it was just the ac drier making noise from when the heater was in defrost mode. needs an alignment tho, kinda pulls to the right just a little bit.

 

heres the pics. most of the side trim on the body is gone, but it will be all gone soon as i get to working on it lol. goin for the smooth look.

well, it is a hardtop lol but the vinyl top was all messed up and my uncle cut most of it off. you can barely tell in the pics. about the middle of the 1/4 post you can see where it cut, right above the Royale emblem.

At the risk of channeling Norm, the term "hardtop" is usually used to refer to a car body without a B-pillar and without metal frames around the doors. GM played a little loose with this terminology when they released the 1973 A-body cars which did have B-pillars but frameless windows.

 

Was the short form of "hardtop convertible" that started in '49 (Olds Holiday, Buick Riviera, and Cad Coupe de Ville) as a Coupe with the "more open feeling" of a convertible with the top up.

I miss mine

 

only pieces that were on the door was the right rear door. it had some nice sized dents in it. all the lower trim on the rockers and stuff had dents and the drivers side fender peice was mangled pretty good. and the left front wheelwell trim was half there, and the others were starting to rot where they screw onto the body. i ended up just throwing them away since they were pretty beat up. if they were any good you could of had them lol.
